Hey everyone,

I know I have been a really bad blogger, it seems to be I disappeared from the face of the earth....I really was talking a break from everything....

This really were/still are hectic in my life...but hey it is life right?

My daughters surgery went very well, she is actually doing great, my son got married back in March, summer consumed me and my life driving my other daughter every where she needed to be!

We did get to go on a little vacation to PA, visited a few places, went to NYC for a couple of hours one day, drove to Niagara Falls for 2 days, and came back!!!

Now this post is not about crafty stuff either, it is something I need to ask to whoever visits me, it is a great cause, it is something that really touches my heart and I am sure most crafters heart too...we are that kind of people who give and give and give...until we start giving more....

I will post an email I got from a friend of mine, who works with these kids....it is very sad to see them get sicker and sicker and know there is no cure/hope for them....she got an email from this family who needs help with their son, not monetary help, but prayers and cards....I am sure we all have/or could have a card made in a few minutes for this child.

Please read.....and thanks!!!

This is the website for AT if anyone is interested in reading more about it......if not, can you please find it in your heart to send Ryan a card to lift his spirits.

Hello All,

I have some sad news. Our AT son, Ryan (age 34), was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

He developed jaundice, diarrhea, itchy skin, and abdominal swelling in July and spent four days in the hospital having tests. The results were presumptive for pancreatic cancer. He went to the University of CA, Irvine Medical Center in August to have an endoscopic biopsy in August, to confirm the diagnosis. The doctor was able to see the tumor, which is at the head of the pancreas and was pushing on the common bile duct, leading to the jaundice and swelling of the liver. During the procedure the doctor put in a stent, which has relieved the jaundice somewhat and has dramatically improved the itchy skin and diarrhea.

The procedure did, however, precipitate some pancreatitis, which caused great pain for Ryan for the past 3 or 4 weeks. At this time he is doing better painwise, as the pancreatitis has settled down. The treatment for this type of pancreatic cancer is a very tricky sugery called The Whipple Procedure. The recovery is extremely difficult, and the fact of the matter is is that it only adds a number of months to the patient's life. Those added months are not without pain and discomfort. So, Ryan and his dad and I have elected to not treat.

I have a request. Would you all please, please, please send a card to us here at home? I have asked all our family and friends to send cards, which I have begun to string up in his room, so that he can see how many folks are thinking of him. I would like to just flood his room with cards. I have attached a picture, showing the cards we have recieved so far. We have room for many, many more!

Mother in law birthday

I visit different blogs and try to do it every week, this image I got from Becky Oehlers, she is another wonderful artist, click here to go to her blog, she has an amazing talent, plus now her own line of images...WOW!

I used her image, some of my stash paper, and ribbon, the sentiment I printed on my computer. I printed 2 copies of the image, one of them I cut out, to make the clouds, sun, balloon pop on dimensional's. Even my dd thought it was adorable!

Granma's birthday

I asked my DD to make a card for her Granma for her Birthday....the only thing I got out of her was the coloring...she wanted 'gothic' colors....
The image I got from Nina's blog, in my eyes, she is a very talented woman...she posts images every Monday, she also has an online store, pay a visit to her, it is well worth your time.

The sentiment is computer generated, it says Happy Birthday Granma, I wanted the bear to look like it was holding the message in her hands. The ribbon, and paper are from my stash....which I am trying to make smaller every day...:)

Trying to keep myself busy stamping...this one I made for a dear friend of mine, which I missed her birthday...I thought the best thing I could do is send her a card saying 'sorry I missed your birthday'.....

I used TAC stamps, water colored it, PTI paper, I layerd the image on a piece of scrap I had, ribbon is from SU!, the sentiment is computer generated...

Hope you like it!

Thanks for stoping by!

This one is a Silhouette design too....I made this for a friend of my dd...She will probably fill it out, to give to her friend. I used the Silhouette to cut the whole book, used the same K & Company 'Smitten' collection, I used TAC This Girl set, and a Studio G $1.00 stamp from my LSS.

I thought it was small, but cute, my dd loved it! Hope her friend likes it too!

Enjoy!

Hubby's Valentines

We don't celebrate Valentines day like most people, who go out to dinner, and such....We decided that instead of spending time/money on such a day, we rather go out any other day....

Still, I like to have a card for my Hubby....I got this digital image from Sassy Studio Designs I think they have great variety of images.....I really loved them all, but I had to get only one this time. I am trying to spend less and use what I have, I need to cut expenses....not because we are lacking...I just feel I have to....So this is a better way of spending some cash for me!

The sentiment is from Ali Edwards. She is a wonderful artist, she has a beautiful line of sentiments, I got these a while back....I looked thru what I had to get something appropiate for this card...

The paper I used is from K & Company "Smitten" collection...beautiful papers!

Hope you like this one!

Little Valentines Gift Box

Another Silhouette created gift....I am getting a lot out of this machine! I used one of their designs, when you get the machine, you can download designs from their online store, this is one of many!

Used the same K & Company 'Smitten' paper collection, in the heart opening I used a transparency piece I had in my stash, cut the design, folded, taped and done! It could not be easier than that, I will put some chocolates in it, a ribbon and a little tag 'to & from'. This too is for my dd friend! (she is a lucky girl!)

Thanks for visiting,

Enjoy!

Sunday

silhouette vinyl

I 'hate' these covers, every time I buy them someone in the family burns them...I thought of painting them...but I did not want to go thru the trouble...I know in time they will burn again...

I decided to 'cover' some of it, or make them a little different, they don't look so bad....I got a design that I had from Silhouette and decided to try to see how it looked. I used the 'negative' on 2 of the covers, and the 'positive' on the other 2.

I know it still looks burned...but your eyes get a little more distraction from the 'burn' because there is something else there to look at. This 'design' I can use if it gets burned again, like a stencil and then I could spray paint over it....We will see how long these last!

Enjoy!

Valentines for my baby girl...mini album

Well once again, here is a mini album, I love it! It was made from recycling envelopes (the ones you get in the mail, and you don't know what to do with...but dump in the garbage...) The fun part is when you use them, you create a small pocket where you can add a tag for more pictures or more memories to be kept!

I have been following Jana click here
she has soooo many great ideas....this is where I got this idea from, go check her out!

Making mini albums, is a good way of using a lot of your scraps, and create some sort of memory....I love the fact that you can re-use materials instead of filling out more of our landfills....

I made this thinking about my 11 y/o daughter, who is growing on me....in a couple of years she will be an adult (like my other 2) and the only thing we will have are our memories....I am planning to put some loving messages on it for her, and some of my favorite pictures of her when she was younger...planning to give it to her for Valentines....since she does not have a Valentines yet!

Enjoy....!

Thursday

Aniversary/Valentines

Sorry I have been MIA, between the Holidays, Ballet commitments, buying a brand new vehicle, getting into an accident not even a week after... to top it off getting the worst cold I have gotten in years....I think I needed to take a break....I still feel I have not had one in months....but here we are in the New Year, New Decade...time to smile, look forward, charge ahead, with a new perspective towards everything, and a smile in your face....

In between all this, I had some time to make something for our wedding anniversary/ Valentines (one is too close to the other to do other wise...)

So here I am sharing. The funny thing is I used very few 'new things' since most of it has been in my craft room for years, I used a lot of 'recycled stuff' some of this paper is from boxes I got at Christmas and tissue paper from some presents too. I used my silhouette for the die cuts, the bind it all to bind the book...and voila!

Enjoy!!
